Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, former Vice Chancellor and Chairman of (JK_BADC) Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference today while addressing a gathering of sportsperson and other dignitaries said that Sports and Games are imperative for social integration which ultimately build a sense of national integration. While giving away prizes to the winning team of final match of 5th Major Thomas Cricket Trophy here in Village Jhallas wherein Dr Shazad was invited as Chief Guest, he congratulated the winning team namely Rejuval Cricket Club and appreciated the organizers for holding such a tournament.
Major Thomas Cricket Trophy has been organized by United Himayat Committee wherein 35 teams participated in the team.
Besides JKBADC Chairman other prominent people who attended the event and addressed the gathering include guest of Honour Major Patnaik of 39 RR,
Maroof Hussain Chairman United Himayat Committee,
Tariq Khan, Chairman Shaheed Manjit Club, Parvaiz Afridi Chairman Ahsas Foundation, Imran Shah Chairman Khidmat foundation, Zaffar Shah, President JKCA Poonch, Rajat Sharma In Charge Police Post Jhallas. The winning team was given away prize money of Rs 30,000 and runner up got Rs 20,000.
